Holger Rune Upsets Novak Djokovic In Rome Quarterfinals Rome-- Wednesday in the quarterfinals of the Internazionali BNL d'Italia in Rome, Italy, the 7th seeded Holger Rune of Denmark mixed offense and defense to upset the top seeded Novak Djokovic of Serbia 6-2, 4-6, 6-2 after two hours and 19 minutes of play.

After winning set one the 20 year old Rune trailed 4-5 in set two before rain delayed the match.

After dropping his service game to lose set two, Rune broke serve before holding serve to lead 2-0 in the final set during a slight drizzle as umbrellas went up in the crowd.

If the world number five Stefanos Tsitsipas of Greece loses his quarterfinal match later today and Rune wins the Rome tournament, Rune would move from number seven to number five in the tennis rankings on Monday.
